Client Referral Information

Clothesworks’ mission is to provide women in need with an appropriate outfit for a job interview or job training program. A second outfit is supplied once employment is secured or upon completion of a job training program. With these garments, Clothesworks strives to afford women in transition the opportunity to build confidence in order to succeed in the workforce.

The criteria for referral clients include:

  • Women going on job interviews or participating in a job training program
  • Women who receive welfare benefits or whose household income is not sufficient to purchase interview attire
  • Women who do not meet the above criteria but whose particular situation warrants clothing assistance for employment
  • Women of all ages
  • Residents of Rockland, Orange or Bergen Counties
  • A referral from a social service or government agency
  • A completed Clothesworks Client Referral Form

Who refers clients to Clothesworks?

Women are referred to Clothesworks by various non-profit and government social service agencies, which include community centers, job training and development programs, and homeless and domestic violence shelters. Each client must be referred in order to receive the services of Clothesworks.

Clients have been referred by Rockland Guidance Center, Tomorrow’s Workplace, Next Steps, Catholic Charities, Displaced Homemakers, V.E.S.I.D., Family Connections and the Child Assistance Program, Jewish Community Center of Rockland County, V.A.I./R.E.A.L.D., Rockland County Office of the Aging, and the Department of Social Services—Employment.
